Doesnt the UK keeps using 2G till 2033? There are many cheap 2G devices that have gps.
For instance the 2G q90 gps watch (which has real gps).
P.s. 4G watches these days often have gps calculation through the cpu, which as i tested often give worse results then cheap through 2g watches. Even pricy 4g watches with for instance unisoc 8641 cpu can give fairly good gps but not as good as watches which have 2g with real gps.
And for your info. For 4g watch there are two types Rtos (cheaper) , have worse telecom signal since it uses less bands. And 4g watches that use android. The newer ones use android 8.1 (more expensive) but have better telecom signal an can for instance use whatsapp and videocalling. Both have good Wifi geocoding. But outside you would like to see good gps to, if you can i would stick to 2g q90 which besides gps also works with wifi geocoding (for when the device is indoors).
I’ve tried three different super cheap smart watches now and had to send them back three times due to the over saturation of fake GPS trackers out there :(
I’m on a super tight budget but need two watches for my boys that I can plonk a cheap pay as you go sim card in and rely on it to communicate with Traccar.
Every single one I’ve bought has claimed to have both 4G and GPS and every single one has turned out to only have GPRS on it :(
I’m so so close to giving up.
When I find links on this forum to options they are almost always long dead links or just suggestions of models, which just run me into the same fake listings when I try to search for them.
Who on earth can I actually buy one of these from and for it to actually do what it’s meant to do‽ :(
I’m in the UK.
