Teltonika FMB003

Hi to all

I bought some of the new FMB003 gps tracker hoping to have a direct access to OEM OBD data (mileage and fuel level) as hardware manifacture report, but until now i have trouble to get those data. National vendor who is giving assistance are just a man in the middle, quite useless and teltonika have some obscure policy (like not give the supported veicole list for example ... firmware) that are not really helping.

So as last resource, I open this thread for collecting useful data and experiences for this hardware in conjunction with traccar.

Actual knowledge:

For OEM OBD data sending, periphals:

have to be configured for using "codec 8 Extended" (configurator, system button, system settings window)
in OBD II section, "General OBD settings":Enable, "OBD VIN Settings":Auto
in OBD II section, OBD II window, set "OEM Total Mileage" and "OEM Fuel Level" prority at last to "low"

Actual state and troubleshooting (Firmware 03.25.17 - Traccar 4.12):

Periphals are sending gps data to traccar but there is no way to read io389 and io390. Other io, like io200, or io60, are ok.

When you connect to the Tracker FMB003 with the teltonica configurator or Bluetooth app. Can you see the actual values read by the OBD adapter? First step to check if the OBD is working. When you open the configurator you can also see witch OBD values are read by the FMB. Not all cars support all OBD readings. (Have some FMB001 OBD on diferent car's en they all are different in OBD parrameters that can be read)

Hi Luca,

Any updates on this issue. I also don't get the mileage and fuel levels from this tracker. I will check the status from the Configurator Tool tomorrow. The tracker don't send these OBDII OEM IO's while they are configured on low priority.

It's depening on the car manufactor iff the value's can read by the FMB003. If the data is not on the car OBD bus it can't be read.

Hi Tjeerd,

Yes, we have Renault Twingo's from 2016-2018. I think these cars don't support these OBD PIDs.

We have many different cars. In a fleet of 20 the obd recognize 1 (VIN). In my experience, Support is sucking (for example send me a wrong firmware making temporary unusable hardware) like fota web that can not complete task after 2 month ... If i can give a suggest (now), buy inexpensive fmb, this one don't do what they say, or look elsewhere.
