Recently purchased a Mictrack MT550 NB-IOT which for tracking is great, low data and therefore low cost.
I have it working with Traccar and can get geofence, ignition status etc all working, but it seems I cannot send commands to it. This NB-IOT device doesn't have phone or SMS capabilities.
It does offer an SOS button and also a Remote Cut-Off relay. But I seem to have no way to control them. The SOS should send something to Traccar but have yet to test.
The relay thou needs me to send something to it, to trigger the relay. I have email Mictrack and they are useless. They have told me it is an optional feature. The part (the relay and harness) is optional.
Does anyone know if its possible to send commands via GPRS or something to the device and what commands to use? Is there any other data I may be able to collect from the device?
At this stage, the only way I can configure it is by pulling it out and plugging into USB and hooking a power supply.
Hello Shaun
Did you work this out? The remote cut-off would be good but, like you say, NB-IOT doesn't do SMS or calls so how to send command?
thanks
No I didn't.
Personally I think by adding the ability to send commands over IP to traccar, then it would solve the issue of nb-iot.
