Sinotrack ST-901L vs ST-906L
I'm not sure what device is "ST901L", i just been seen ST901 with no L, but as i understand, you refer to 901 with 4G technology.
ST906L have microphone input, SOS button input, relay output, it's not waterproof. In cellphone signal coverage and gps reception, it's not significant differences.
ST901 it's waterproof, have just basic connections (+, -, IGN and Relay, thats all).
About this last one, we stopped buying this because Sinotrack has changed PCB design. In the label, up from barcode, past model that worked well had written "GPS Tracker 4G A7670SA". New model have written "GPS Tracker 4G Global". These "global" devices fails.
I'm not sure if it's because Traccar receiving issue, or if maybe something in the hardware is wrong, but that new "global" ST901s fails.
We currently just use ST906L and 915 from sinotrack manufacturer.

It is interesting that you say the ST901 stopped working for you. Until recently, I used the ST901 directly with the SinoTrak servers and SMS functionality and both have stopped working entirely now.
It seems as though the GPS still works but the cell service has stopped.
Is this because the ST901 were 2G trackers and your mobile network closed down 2G?

In our case, it was not because 2G technology. In Mexico 2G still works in the biggest phone company (maybe not too long, but stil works). In fact, 2G ST901 devices works very well. The model that doesn't works anymore is ST901 4G (labeled as Global). If you compare PCB structure and chipset from ST901 4G A7670SA labeled and ST901 4G Global labeled, they're totally different. First one uses SIMCOM module, and 4G Global uses another chip. As far as i remember, 4G Global works weird, doesn't uses configured reporting times, instead reports at ignition interval all time, sometimes send 1 position each 2-3 seconds, and sometimes get disconnected. It's trash.
We're still using ST906L without issues (2025/08/25 firmware version). Last issue we experienced was because the devices just receives and answers SMS in the first 2-3 minutes since it is energized. After that, any message sent is received, any configuration is changed, and any answer is get. After turn them off and again on, it answers and receive configurations by another 2-3 minutes window. Besides that, any trouble. So, it's reliable to use it without SMS tracking.
We have discontinued ST901 4G model some months ago, maybe whole 2025. And the latest we got to test (november, 2025) are still useless.
From Sinotrack we just offer 906L 4G, and 905/915 mobile rechargeable.

Im trying to choose between these two devices. Are there any differences in terms of precision or any other important ones? I cannot seem to find any comparison between them anywhere.
