Traccar SMS Gateway is an Android messaging app that can send SMS messages through an API. It is provided by Tananaev Solutions, identified in our Terms of Service. For privacy questions, contact support@traccar.org. Our main Privacy Policy also covers support and related services.
Depending on the features used and permissions granted, the app accesses SMS and MMS messages, message contents, sender and recipient numbers, contacts, and phone or SIM information. It uses this information to display conversations, identify contacts, and send or receive messages. Features and permissions can vary by app version.
Messages and settings are stored on the device. Installation does not require a website account or card details. Your mobile carrier may charge for messages and handles message delivery under its own terms and privacy practices.
When you enable the direct HTTP gateway, an authorized system sends destination numbers and message contents to the app on your device. When you use our hosted relay, that information passes through our server and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging before reaching the device. Firebase also processes installation identifiers and messaging tokens for delivery.
Message recipients, mobile carriers, and systems you connect to the gateway receive or process messaging information as part of delivery. Messaging data is therefore not exclusively local to your device.
Traccar builds include Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to help us understand app usage and diagnose errors. These services process app interactions, installation identifiers, device and operating-system information, crash reports, and diagnostic information.

You can disable the gateway, revoke app permissions, delete messages through the app, or uninstall it. Disabling gateway features does not necessarily stop diagnostics while the app remains in use. Uninstalling does not necessarily erase messages held in Android's shared message storage or copies held by recipients, carriers, or connected systems.
Local messages remain until deleted through the relevant messaging or device controls. Provider-held messaging and diagnostic data follow the retention arrangements for those services. Contact us about information processed through our relay or support; contact the relevant operator for copies held by other systems.
Our Privacy Policy explains applicable rights to access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent, and how to contact us or a data protection authority. You are responsible for having authority to send messages and process other people's information through the gateway.
Protect gateway credentials and restrict network access to authorized systems. A direct HTTP connection does not encrypt message contents; use a trusted network or suitable secure connection. SMS is not an end-to-end encrypted messaging service.
Contact us about suspected unlawful collection involving children. We will publish updates here and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required.
