Hello great Traccar community,
I’m reaching out for help because I have several questions about remotely configuring a CALAMP LMU-2360 device.
First, is it normal for the IMEI not to be composed of 15 digits? I’ve noticed mine seems different from the standard length.
Also, I’m trying to send remote configuration commands via SMS. I sent the command !R0 and received a response with some data. However, when I try to send other commands, the device simply doesn’t reply.
What I’m trying to achieve is the following:
Set the **tracking frequency to every 30 seconds when ignition is ON.
Configure it to **report when there’s a turn of more than 15 degrees sustained for at least 3 seconds.
I also have access to send commands in ASCII and HEX formats, but the device still doesn’t respond.
I even tried sending AT commands, but no luck.
Honestly, I find these CALAMP devices quite complex. I used to think Teltonika was difficult, but this is a whole other level.
Any guidance or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Are you sure it's IMEI and not another type of id?
Does anyone know or have a good tool that can convert the commands typically sent to a CALAMP via SMS in ASCII into HEX?
Obviously, I know it’s not just a literal conversion from ASCII to HEX or binary. It also requires the proper headers and related structure as described in the LM Documentation from CalAmp.
The thing is, I have access to the device through GPRS and I’d like to make some parameter changes, such as the reporting frequency. However, it doesn’t accept ASCII or simply doesn’t respond, and from what I’ve read, it seems to only allow HEX.
Best regards.
