New Traccar Manager on iOS doesn't save the password

Daniel Hölder11 days ago

I installed the new iOS app (5.1.3) on my iPad. It does not save the password.

On my iPhone i didn't update yet. There, it saves the password.

What do you mean by saving password?

Daniel Hölder11 days ago

With the new version of the app, I have to enter the password every time when I open/start the app. (As it is if I access the platform via the bowser.)

On my iPhone, where the old version of the app is installed, the app „saves“ the password. The login is being done via face id.

I don’t find an option to activate face id in the app.

Face id should be supported in the new version.

Daniel Hölder11 days ago

How can I activate it in the app?

It is already activated for Traccar Manager in the iPad settings.

It should just work. There's nothing special you need to do. Have you tried any other iPhones or iPads?

Daniel Hölder11 days ago

Unfortunately, it doesn’t.

It works on my iPhone. And it worked on my old iPad.

Bute Face ID works with other apps on my new iPad as well…

Daniel Hölder11 days ago

I updated the app on my iPhone. Face ID still works.

The only idea I have is to uninstall and reinstall the app on my iPad.

Daniel Hölder11 days ago

Did not help. I confirmed Face ID, when I started the newly installed app for the first time and checked if Traccar Manager is listed and activated as an allowed app in the Face ID settings.

But it doesn’t work.

So on iPhone it works with the same version of the app?

Daniel Hölder11 days ago

Sorry for the late answer, but I couldn't answer anymore. (Error message: Too many requests.) So, I had to wait.

Yes, it seems so. The app store says 5.1.3 on both devices. Can I check the version in the app as well?

When I open the app on the iPad, there seems to pop up something, but that disappears so quickly, that you cannot see what it is. But it looks similar to what happens with Face ID on the iPhone.

For other apps, Face ID still works on my iPad. I just doble-checked it.

What iOS version if your iPad? I don't have a real iPad to test, but I can try a simulator.

Daniel Hölder11 days ago

iPad Pro 11“ M4 with iPadOS 18.5

Anton Tananaev11 days ago

I think I'm able to repro it on a simulator.

Turns out the issue was with the web app. This should fix it:

Thanks for reporting the problem and providing details.
