Most up to date and instock Tracking Decive for Boat (12VPower,GND,Iginition)

Twwa year ago

Looking at setting up my own server (or buying a server from Traccar hosting) and getting rid of my current provider who has so many issues on a week to week basis! :(

Questions:

  1. What is the most up to date resonably priced and avaliable tracker? I am on a lake in Charlote, NC area. Good cell coverage over all.
  2. Would this sim work? $10 for 10 Years 500MB / 250SMS --- https://1nce.com/en-us/
  3. Could use a tello monthly plan $7 a month

Things I would need:
Route Replay for the day rental. [would need to store a few days for AirBNB (weekly) rentals]
Geofence (not sure I would use it would always live view on map)

Nice to Have:
Low Voltage (boat Battery) Alert-- App or Text alert
** somthing else I am not thinking about **

Can't wait to get started! :)

Looks like "hello Mobile $5 Plan" 500Megs data and unlimited talk/texxt may be a better plan than the NCE cards i ordered since I may run out of data quickly. :(

Don't have any specific device recommendations, but in terms of SIM card anything should work if it works in a regular cell phone. The data usage will obviously depend on reporting frequency.

Absolutely would not expect a specific device rec. I understand that from my consulting days! A mini list of 3 or 5 devices that can work for my 3 requirements listed may be helpful. i picked one from amazon that is available to shit same day: sino 901L. Since i don’t have an from of data use for pings every 30 seconds what would that look like for my “fleet” of 4 boats? round about estimate

Hi Tww,

You can also have a look at what Simbase charge/offer in your area.

As for devices, my preference would be Teltonika FMC920 devices. Very configurable and work well with Traccar

Hi Oete,

Thanks! I am working with a SinoTrack from Amazon same day delivery to test some tings out. I will report back. Waiting on my Speedtalk Sim to active I gues.. (says up to 24 hours.)

I can get 4 of these for about 50 a piece shipped to my door.

Is that a good deal?

teltonika was telling me that the FMC920 may not be "certified" any more?

Whats does that mean? I am in USA.
