How to send a commando to device.

per773 years ago

Hi.

We have some EV202 that we use for our hunting dogs. We have really tried to read here on the site how to "force" the device to send its GPS position to the server.
We have set the tracker to update every 10 min and it works fine, but often we need to "punch" a position. We are beginners, so please be indulgent with us.

Where do we start?

The easy way is, change your time interval if economically justifiable .

All other possibilities need more work and are dependent what your device
or your GPRS Provider can do.

May be, send SMS and your device and the answer with sending data to traccar.
Build your own network with your provider via openssh
to your devices......

Thanks Chris

We have purchased some EV-202 trackers for our hunting dogs.

It is no problem to set the update rate to live tracking for example 10 sec. We can do this via a small USB / Com tools Eview has sent to us, but then the battery only lasts a few hours and before releasing the dogs.

We had set the trackers up to give position everly 10 min. But if a dog has come as far away in the forest and needs to be located, we would like to be able to send a message via GPRS and put it in live tracking with position updates e.g. eg every 10 sec.

We have bought some EV-202 trackers for our hunting dogs - the trackers use protocol 5187 - Minifinder Atto Pro - minifinder2.

We are sad that we are probably asking stupid things, but we just want a little help to find guidelines for the further course. We would like to invest time to become wiser in tracking - we find it fascinating - but just want a little help on how we can become wiser. Thanks in advance.

The first question is, is your device alble to trigger, send it's position,
if it got a TCP/UDP command via GPRS?
How do you like to send this command.
PC/Notebook or Mobilephone?

With a usual card provider, I think, it is not possible
with this device, because, it can't do dyndns IMHO.
Depending from the country where you are because the
card provider.

The easy and cheap way IMHO for you, is to strike a balance between
updatetime and power consumption.
