I currently use old smartphones running the Traccar Client app with free Freedompop 4G SIM cards for my fleet of several vehicles. This works remarkably well but is not a clean and neat solution. The phones need to be constantly connected to a charger, which means I have wires and things all over the cab of my vehicles.
Is there any OBDII devices out there that will work with the Freedompop 4G SIM cards? On the phones, I have to create a custom APN in the settings for data to work. An OBDII device would eliminate my smartphones and be a much cleaner and neat solution. I do not need vehicle info, just the GPS location of the device. I know that Traccar supports a lot of OBDII devices, but I don't want to buy a ton of devices for trial-and-error testing if I can help it. The Freedompop SIMs are AT&Ts 4G network.
I think any 3G or 4G device should work just fine.
