Recommended GPS tracker for fleet

Dakora5 years ago

Hey Guys,

What do you recommend for GPS trackers that support Traccar for use in a fleet setting (20+ vehicles)?

We would need

  • 3G CDMA or 4G/LTE
  • Accessible SIM card slot
  • Reports Location, Speed, Harsh Braking, Harsh Acceleration, Ignition, Engine Hours, Battery, Temperature, and optionally direction information
  • Supports either OBDII or J1939 Hi-Speed connection

Regarding the SIM card slot, when you say accessible are you saying you'll be removing and inserting SIM cards often? Usually you would just leave the GPS tracker alone once it's installed.

There's a few options for OBDII, Teltonika and Ruptela are well supported

A lot of the trackers I've found have a built in sim card, we basically need a model that we can stick our own cards into.

I'll check those manufacturers, thanks!

Looks like those companies only produce GSM Cellular models, do you guys know of any others that would work on CDMA networks (Canada)?
