The company who I purchased my device off here in NZ is no longer supporting these devices. I have managed to make the device go onto a cellphone network here in NZ, but im assuming it needs to talk to a server somewhere?? Can anyone point me in the right direction on how I can config the device?? Is it a firmware flash or plug in via USB with some software??
I can seem to find anything on the interweb, the best I could do is to text the APN for the cell network to the device, but that didnt respond.
Should I be able to text the device direct to get a response? even if its not talking to a server??

Usually you need to send specially formatted text messages to devices to configure them.

Depends on the device, but this is the most common option.
