cache Openstreetmap and Openfreemap tiles via Nginx

Hello everyone, does anyone know if it is possible to cache tiles from Openstreetmap and Openfreemap layers via Nginx?

I don't see why not, but what is the goal?

Hi Anton, I'm trying to reduce server resources.

Not sure I understand. Caching it on your server will require more resources, not less.

It depends on which feature we are talking about.

I received an email from Google Cloud saying that the resource was reaching its limit. However, nothing changed, however Google said that access to the platform generated this traffic.

Unfortunately it makes less and less sense to me. Why would Google Cloud care about how much OSM traffic you're using when it doesn't even go through them?

Sorry, I really don't know how to discuss or address this issue with you. I believed that the biggest cost in relation to the service itself was the number of devices and the frequency of data sent. When I disabled Google Maps it significantly reduced the resources. So I'm trying to minimize the resources.

You never mentioned anything about Google Maps. You only said OSM and OpenFreeMap, both of which are free and don't have any limitations.

If you're asking about caching Google tiles, that's an entirely different story and it's likely against their terms of service.

Anton, you're right. However, I thought that if I did this with open source maps it would already reduce some of the costs. Unfortunately, I live in Brazil, and the tax burden here is quite high. I apologize, since this issue has nothing to do with the alleged problem. Google Maps makes this difficult, so it's not the problem.

I'm looking for a way to lower costs.

How do you reduce cost by cashing tiles that are free? And how is it related to taxes?
