Do you have Google Play services?
No, this is an AOSP device
Judging by the behavior, it's identical to what happens on my Huawei device. If you pay attention to the error text – it explicitly mentions Huawei Mobile Services. This strongly suggests the issues are related, and the built-in HMS environment is causing failures. As I outlined in my original topic post, version 9.0.0 (debug) did work. I propose testing that specific version. If confirmed, I strongly request that Anton prioritize investigating this. It appears this problem will persist for all users with HMS-based devices.
We require Google Play services.
Is there any way to work around the Gogle Play Services as we have a fleet of devices which run AOSP (i.e non-Google android).
Given the mention of Transistorsoft, for example, could we purchase the below and enter the license key to resolve this issue?
https://shop.transistorsoft.com/collections/frontpage/products/huawei-background-geolocation
Yes, we should be able to. If you're willing to contribute that, we can enable it for everyone.
I've had an email conversation with Tortoisesoft about the license, unfortunately while I'd have been interested to contribute towards that HMS license, it would seemingly only work for the Hauwai devices and not for AOSP devices such as those we're running so doing so wouldn't actually help me.
Is there any option other than remaining on Traccar client for Android version 7.x indefinitely?
You can.
We have come across the same issue as Moztech with a fleet of Telox TE320s. The legacy version 7.x installs, shows network online but we receive no GPS updates from the client. Has anyone experienced similar? Other Telox devices such as TE620 and TE300 work fine.
Have you read this thread?
Yes, what I'm saying is that the version 7.x client isn't working in that it does not report GPS positions. I was wondering if it was working with the OPs TE320s.
Traccar v7 is working on my TE320'S
Traccar v9 won't run on them
Thanks, interesting. We have a couple of builds of the TE320 and TE320P, although the version 7 client loads, and all permissions are set correctly we can't get any to report their location or talk to the Traccar server, the client reports network online but nothing further. As previously mentioned, the same Traccar client config on other Telox devices works no problem.
Installing Traccar 9.4.1 APK on a new Telox TE320 I'm getting a License Validation Failure error message and once I start the app the Continuous tracking slider is disabled.
Is this something I've done or a bug in the app? Is there any fix?
