Duplicate entry

TraccarMark19 days ago

Hi,

I registered on the Traccar demo server and added my device there. Everything worked fine.

Now I have my own Traccar server running in Home Assistant and I want to add the same device. But when I try, I get this error:

Duplicate entry 'xxxxxxxxx' for key 'uniqueid'
SQLIntegrityConstraintViolationException
(... < QueryBuilder:469 < DatabaseStorage:95 < BaseObjectResource:73 < ...)

I read some old forum topics (3–5 years ago) about this "Duplicate entry" problem, but I couldn’t find a working solution.

What I tried:

  • Deleted the device from the demo server
  • Deleted my demo account entirely
  • Still cannot add the device to my own server

Is there a workaround to re-register a device that was previously added on the demo server, so I can use it on my own server?

Thanks in advance!

The issue has nothing to do with demo server. If you get this error on your own server, it means the device is already registered on your server.

You should just link existing device to your user account.

Hi Anton,

Thank you for your answer. I really appreciate it.

However, I just created the server and have never registered any device on it. The only server where I registered this device is the Demo3 server. Is there any way to solve this issue? It is very frustrating.

I find it hard to believe there’s no solution, as I’ve seen the same issue reported in the forums for the past 3 years, yet no workaround seems to exist.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I tried to follow that option, but I’m missing the link option. I am registered, but I don’t see any admin options.

What server version are you using? If it's one of the recent ones, the first user you register will be the admin.
