What device are you using?
You can't install Traccar on a shared hosting, if that's what you are asking. You need a VPS.
i am using a samsung galaxy s5
i am using the traccar client i downloaded from the play store. location/gps is turned on. location accuracy is set to medium. status screen says service is running.
If you don't see location update, it means that phone doesn't report location for some reason. In turn it probably means that you mistaken about second question or you don't have internet connection on your phone. For medium accuracy Traccar Client uses network location provider (not GPS) which needs to be enabled in Android settings.
im looking at permissions for traccar app in application view. says permissions: location.
my phones settings for location are high accuracy, uses gps, wifi and mobile networks.
So network location provider is enabled, you have internet connection and Traccar Client is using default configuration parameters? It should work then. If not, you are missing something.
ok, i changed your app to high accuracy and now i have showed up.
i am trying to use the demo first, but it says offline. i am pointing to demo.traccar.org:5055 from my android device. i switch the service status to running and log into demo site. i add my device id and it says offline.
also, can this be installed on a webhosting account? i should assume i need ssh access to do this, not a package to just upload and run?
