Error: NullPointerException (ServerResource:56 <...)?

Good evening all, I am rather new to Traccar but thank you for the fantastic software. I ran an Ubuntu 16.04 server with Traccar V3.9 (Because I followed the installation instructions without checking the latest version XD) and everything was alright. I then decided to try out V3.17 and am hitting the error you see in the description when I click on show location for a device. I am testing it with my mobile phone using the client application via port 5055. My tracker is showing online and it is tracking perfectly however the location button keeps hitting this error. I have searched the forum and am stumped as to where to look to resolve this.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I will do the research, just need a starting point.

If any other information is needed, let me know so that I can upload it.

Thanking you in advance.

Steven

Have you enabled reverse geocoding?

Evening Anton, I understand nothing about this system yet however thank you for the advise, I will do some research into this and see if it helps me resolve my error.

Highly appreciate the quick response. Have good evening.

Best Regards.

As far as I understand, you are trying to get address, which is an optional functionality. If you really need it, you need to configure a third party reverse geocoding service.

Thank you, got it working, I didn't enable the reverse-geocoding. I then had to also upgrade the java version to version 8. But now its up and running fine.

Currently using the Google geocoding service however will setup a third party server and see if I can get that working. Thanks again and all the best with Traccar.
