You are clearly missing something. The fact that you have Traccar locally won't affect your ability to connect to remote instance.
Sounds to me i was not clear enough.
My Windows 7 is hosting a VM with VMware workstation. This VM is a Win 2016.
Here are thé steps i followed:
Install Traccar on the Win 7 and tried it for à week. Everything was Just amazing.
Install Traccar on the VM Win 2016 and Everything working fine.
Uninstalling from thé Win 7.
-> not working anymore on the VM
Reinstalling on Win 7
-> working again on the server
This is thé story
That's exactly what I understood. I don't see how one instance of Traccar would affect another. You are missing something and you need to double-check everything.
I think thé same that is why I came to thé forum... So not even an idea ?? This is so crazy!!!
I can only tell you that one instance won't affect another, so you need to look somewhere else for the cause.
I finally found out the source of the problem... Symantec Endpoint Protection is blocking ports if the service is not active (without notification, and without logging this info in the logs) on the Win 7 machine which affect directly the VM attach to the same NIC. Now just need to find out why Symantec Endpoint Protection is acting like that.
Thanks for your answers, and hopefully this can help someone in the future :-)
Good afternoon,
I installed version 3.17 on my windows 7 x64 and all the devices were updating perfectly within seconds. After a week of really amazing tests i decided to setup TRACCAR on one of my servers (Windows 2016 x64) and everything worked as it should UNTIL i uninstall TRACCAR from my Windows 7 machine.
After many tests it appears that the only way to get it running on the server is having it installed and running on my windows 7 machine. If i stop the service on windows 7 no more access to TRACCAR on the windows 2016 from the Android devices, but still can access the webserver:8082 from the server 2016 and from my windows 7, but not from any other machine on the network. Now starting the service on Windows 7... working on Windows 2016, updating from android devices and webserver:8082 accessible from any device on the network.
The server is a VM in VMWare workstation 14.
I know it sounds crazy but this is real.
I uninstalled Java and TRACCAR on both machines, deleted all left folders, rebooted and re-installed, cleared Cache and data and uninstalled/reinstalled on android devices... same problem always occuring. When stopping the TRACCAR service No more access to the web page (8082) and android update port 5055
Any idea/help would be really appreciated.
