Traccar out of box

Hello friends,

I wonder if it is a good idea to use traccar out of box on windows server, I have almost 100 devices to track and I plan to store their tracking data al least 5 years.

Linux Ubuntu server is best to use. You need to know the basics about command line, but not difficult.

I run traccar on a Windows server and it's just fine.
The tracking capacity depends not only on the number of devices but also the frequency of their reporting plus of course the spec of your server. There is plenty of relevant discussion in this forum.
The amount of data you can store depends on the size of your disk drive.

So far what i understand is ;

running Traccar out of the box on a Windows server with H2 db is enough for 100 devices.

If there is another best pratice please share with us.

Do not use H2 database for production server. So many people have been burned.

Traccar out of the box, Mysql out of the box, follow Traccar instructions to replace H2 with Mysql. Research and learn.
