Moving while parked.

Ray3 years ago

Some of my devices move while they are parked.

I use the coordination filter.
With max and min error.

What is the best way to set this.
They normaly move between 10 and 70 meters. How can i fix this.

I have min error on 5 and max error on 70 but still they move.

And when parked they stay online. Not in sleep mode or anything

Coordinates filter won't help you. You can try distance filter.

Could you give a hint on how to do this in the best way. I have read the documentation but i dont really understand how to set the distance

I can try to clarify if you have some specific questions about the documentation.

Well i tried to set filter.distance set to 50. So in my opinion if the tracker moves between this 50 meters it does get filterd out and should not go over my geofence. Am i right??

But i still see it move for about 5 tot 70 meters. The tracker is parked in a farmer isolated barn. So loads of steel and so on. Sometimes it stays on the spot for 6 an7 hours. Then suddendly it moves 10 tot 50 meters.

Your understanding is correct.

So what is the best way to let the gps not wandering around while in parking??

Anton Tananaev3 years ago

The only real reliable way is to get a device that handles it using accelerometer.

@ray

Did you check actually what the positon is based on when when it moves more the 50 meters ?

Is it a valid GPS location or invalid according to the log (you should be able to see that in the log)?

You might use filter.accuracy

just my two cents.
