How slow? We have some throttling if you have a lot of data coming.
Hi,
It gets very slow to refresh. For example it takes instead of 10 seconds (data setup to be send from the gps device), from 30 seconds up to 1 minute.
Is this due to throttling? Is there a way to improve this?
Thanks
Best regards
No, there shouldn't be more than 3 seconds of delay.
Cool! 3 seconds of delay from traccar is not a problem at all.
However, any idea from your experience, what might cause these delays? Is it from the mysql database or so?
Thanks
Have you checked logs to see if there's a delay there?
Hi,
The delay seems to be come from the map refresh rate.
If I have a few gps devices on the map, the response seems to be much better. However, then the devices are more than 50 then there seems to be a refresh rate delay.
It should be notes, that each gps device is set to send data to traccar ever 5s. Do you believe that if the devices data send time is set to 10 seconds instead of 5 seconds, will this help the map (browser) refresh rate?
Any other suggestions on how to optimise the refresh rate and smooth motion of a gps device, when there are more than 50 units on an account?
Thank
Best Regards
The delay seems to be come from the map refresh rate.
Please provide the evidence and all the investigation details.
Hi Anton,
Well after some testing we can see than if on traccar there are more than 50 devices, the map refresh rate and the movement of the device on the map are getting very slow. And this get's worse as the number of added devices per account/user is increased.
Is there any suggested solution for this?
Thanks
Best regards
Sorry, but I don't think I can help you here. Everything I asked was completely ignored.
Thanks for replying even in this way.
What kind of data of a freezing device on a map can someone provide. It is a situation that one can see by observing the map.
Also it seems strange to me, if I am the only one facing this problem.
There is a possibility that this is not traccar problem, but browser or os, however, only an experienced person in this can tell I guess, and unfortunately I am not that experienced.
Anyhow, thanks
Best regards
Andreas
I want to see what data you made your previous conclusion on. We can start with that. And provide details on what troubleshooting you have done so far.
Dear Anton,
The data on which the conclusion is done are:
When I have upto around 50 devices on an account in traccar, the refresh rate of the map, and the movement of the devices on the map is working OK.
As the number of devices increases above around 50, the refresh rate of the map and the movement of the devices on the map is really very slow.
This has nothing to do with Server RAM which has 16GB nor Server CPU.
So the question based on your experience: 1) Is this normal, and nothing can be done to be improved or 2)there is any advise on how to attempt to improve this situation or 3) if this is something that can be improved in updated versions of traccar?
Thanks a lot!
It's not normal.
I was working with traccar version 4.14 under Ubuntu with a mysql database, and the gps devices were responding-updating perfectly ok on the map.
After upgrading to version 5.8 as well as 5.9 the gps devices are late in their response time.
I have reverted back to older version 4.14 and again response time of the gps device is ok.
Is there any setting or so, in the new version that makes the gps devices late in their response/update time on the map?
Thanks
