Decoding Issue 1

Oluwatobi7 months ago

Dear community, I have recently have issues with how traccar is decoding devices and i would be glad if i can be assisted on how to resolve it.
Issue:
I noticed a certain device does not send in data. the device says its online, but the location is grossly inaccurate and misleading. this can be confirmed with the time at which the device location was captured.
For example: screenshot 1 shows that the device on traccar reporting fine with the online status. but the time is really apart https://imgtr.ee/image/IIP8gK

Then i viewed the logfile of the device yesterday and i can see that the device sends pings to the server at regular interval but the server just doesnt send back response to enable the device send data, https://imgtr.ee/image/IIPXn2

I then queried the device via sms command to be sure if the device probably wasnt getting good GPS signal. but result shows the location via sms is as accurate as it can get. https://imgtr.ee/image/smsQuery.IIPB7o

Can you please point me on how to resolve this, here is a link to the image references as earlier described.

I use the official release of Traccar,
I run it on a linux 22.04 machine

You have to provide logs and the protocol documentation.

I did provide log from the server in my earlier message: https://imgtr.ee/image/IIPXn2

While for protocol documentation, it’s a conventional gt06 China device. I don’t have the protocol documentation here

I don't understand why some people provide logs as a screenshot. It makes no sense at all. Are you expecting me to type those HEX values manually? Obviously I won't be doing it.

But also without protocol documentation we can't do anything anyway.
