Best Version of Mysql

Is there any specific version of mysql use with traccar 4.0 or which is the best version i used with version 4.0.

Use latest 5.x version.

is it still the case 2 years later ?

I installed traccar on ubuntu 20 / mysql 8.It works but I have issues with external access to the database which doesn't support mysql 8.

I was wondering if mysql 5.x is still OK with the last release of traccar 4.12 ?

Newer version is better, but older ones should just fine as well.

Thanks for your prompt answer . I'll downgrade to mysql 5.x by waiting my third party software to be compatible with mysql 8.
