How to add a KML file as an overlay

Richard Williamson 7 years ago

Hi,
I'm wanting to add a .kml route as an overlay to the standard map. The kml file is on my local machine. All I can find is a free form text box in the server setting on the cloud hosted solution.
Thanks,
Richard.

You need to host it somewhere. One option is to host it in Traccar itself.

I’ve bwen able to find that by spending an hour searching the forum. Great.
However I can find zero info on how to host it in Traccar.

Just put it in the "web" folder and it will be accessible via Traccar web server.

The kml file or the link?
Does it then just appear or there is a setting in Traccar which must be changed?

File. It doesn't appear in the settings, but you can access it using same URL that you access Traccar.

I added the kml to that folder. Logged in and out of Traccar and nothing happened. The route isn’t visible in the map.

Have you updated URL in settings?

Hang on. You say put kml in web folder but I’m a cloud user. So that isn’t relevant.
Update the url to what?
This is a rather painful support.

This forum is not only for subscription support. It's a general forum about Traccar software. If you are a subscription user, I would recommend to contact support email directly and mention what subscription you are on.
