Mac os Sierra - unable to install

Hi I am trying to install traccar and keep on getting the below error

nicholassmith$ sudo ./traccar.run
Creating directory out
Verifying archive integrity...  100%   All good.
Uncompressing traccar  100%  
Java 7 or higher is required

When I check my java version I get below

java -version
java version "1.8.0_171"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_171-b11)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.171-b11, mixed mode)

What am i doing wrong?

There must be a problem with Java installation.

Thanks Anton, what do you recommend I do?

Re-install it using brew.
