New Traccar Client switch to Offline after some minutes

H4ussi3 days ago

Hi together, I use iPhones and iPads to track some vehicles. In the past, i used following settings: accuracy: High, frequency: 15, distance: 10. With that, the Status was always online.
Now I have on some devices the new traccar client. I know, there is the "Stop detection" implemented. I tried many settings (heartbeat: 60sec, stop detection off -> slider "send position" switched to red, and many other settings), but I didn't find a setting which it will do exact the same thing like in the past. I also read the manual and as far as I understand it, with heartbeat and disabled stop detection, it should always online.

For me is important, that the status in the traccar manager will be always online (as long as it has a connection to the sever of course) and the battery level is up to date. Can someone help me please? :D Thanks.

Heartbeat should make it online when stationary.

So when the device goes offline in traccar server. Check the server logfile what happens before and after that moment?

Does the device actually send the heartbeat every minute ? You should see it in the log.

Meaby you use some filtering.

Thanks for the hints. So I used now following settings:

  • Stop detection on
  • Distance: 10m
  • Stationary Heartbeat: 60sec

I tested it now with my Android, but there still the same issue. In the Sever Logs, I only see the phones with the old app. And in the phone logs, the last entry is older than 5min. So for me it looks like, the heartbeat function is not running. Can you give me a keyword, so I can search within my log if this is really active?

Heartbeat 60 seconds is absolute minimum and not really guaranteed. Most Android devices limit job scheduling to about 10 minutes.
