I've got a GETAC laptop with a builtin GPS chip. Its broadcasting NMEA on COM2. I'm using GPSGate to rebroadcast the data back to my server via a TCP connection, however GETAC has no way to send a device identifier and neither does NMEA natively. How would Traccar identify these units? By IP?
It won't work without identification.
