I am a new traccar user, and I must say that I am very happy and pleased with the software in overall. Fantastic good work!
However, I am experimenting with Traccar Client on my own phone (Samsung Galaxy S6). To reduce power usage, I use "Network" as location provider. It works, but there is not coming any speed info in the packets from Traccar Client:

The missing speed info causes Traccar not to be able to report any trips.
How can this be fixed? I did not try with the GPS locaotion provider, as it probably consumes more battery, and it displays the "GPS icon" in the top, so I really would prefer that Network could be sufficient.

Network provider does not return speed value. It's a technology limitation. If you need speed, you have to use GPS provider. GPS will use more battery, but that's the only option with speed.

Would you consider changing the trip detection algorithm to be based on timestamps and location differences instead, or as a supplement? Or maybe keep using speed, but then add a mechanism for calculating speeds inside Traccar from times and locations before detecting?
I am open to suggestions if you can think of a good algorithm. Any feature suggestions please add on GitHub, not forum.
