Port 5023 is the right one. I guess you haven't tried it properly.

you are right. I went back and check 5023 and I did mess it up.

Can you explain how you identified the protocol? I tried to hex decode it but I just get garbage on the decode.

It's one of the most popular protocols and you can identify it by 7878 prefix.
