Realtime Car GPS tracking and API

Hello Forum,

I am developing a project for which I would like to track the car in real-time.
With that in mind, can someone advise me best tracking device and best open source API for tacking data in real-time?

You are on Traccar website, so I would recommend using Traccar API.

Speed is part of GPS data, so any GPS tracker out there can do it.

Can I use traccar api -( windows app and phone app- ios and android) change it to my own brand name and host on a server of choice?

My next question is which tracker would you recommend I use that is not permanently connected to the car's power but runs off a long life battery, and records basic functions of real time positioning, history reports, geo fencing, can turn on and off easily via sms, gives current time of positioning.?
and can be hidden anywhere in the car.

You can re-brand the apps if you want. As for device recommendation, check forum. We don't have any official recommendations.
