Hi,
I am traveling quite a bit and use traccar for both historical "where was I" and current "where is my vehicle at" (in case of it being stolen/my employer needing to know where I'm at).
Unfortunately, this will result in quite a few datapoints being transferred when watching a "replay" for i.e. 2weeks+. From time series databases, I know that one could reduce the resolution after some time and I wonder if such a thing would be possible with traccar as well.
Like (per device):
- keep all data for a week
- reduce to 1 position /10 minutes up to a month
- reduce to 1 position/hour after that
Would this actually possible (with external scripting even), or is this already in planning?
Cheers,
Snafu
I think it should be possible with some scripting.
I don't think we have any specific plans around implementing it out of the box, but you can put a feature request if you want.
