Removal from F-Droid Store

is there a reason that Traccar Client has disappeared from F-Droid?

I'm assuming it's because newer versions rely on Google Play. I'm not sure why they didn't leave the old version though.

Correct. On Google-free phones you can continue using the old version.

That's bad news because non-Google users are basically shut off from future development and important features, like the ability to use the Android cert store for SSL connections.

Is there any roadmap for non-Google users?

Not really.
