Remove password Queclink GL300

Fung, thanks a lot, but...
I assume in the filenames AxxVxx identifies existing firmware version: how do I find this (without the unit password)?

Any Help?

I'm awaiting delivery of my GL300 but I'll keep you posted.

Fung: Fell at the first hurdle, fail to successfully connect a Driver!
I'm using Windows 10 & have GL300 connected to pc using USB cable type M (I think!)
I've tried various Prolific PL2303 Driver versions, as I've read that later (post v3.3) drivers are not compatible with earlier (or fake) PL2303 chips when using Windows 10. I cannot get COM port detected, in Task Manager.
Is it necessary to “open” the USB port on the GL300?
For example, on my Globalsat TR203, to open/enable the USB port, with the device powered & connected to a server, it is necessary to briefly press the power button.

Ok, I am Sorry about that.

About the cable:
If it is the correct one, the male connector should be very long (for a USB-Connector) and every time, you plug it in (even without the GL300 connected) windows should play that "USB connected" sound.

If it plays the sound without the GL300 connected, you could check the Device Manager and if it shows the PL2303 you should check the Firmware_Upgrade_Tool_Duplex User Guide V1.08.pdf mentioned below.

Otherwise you may try one of these from the Queclink page:
http://queclink.com/sites/default/files/PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1190.zip
http://queclink.com/sites/default/files/PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1160.zip
http://queclink.com/sites/default/files/PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1_9_0.zip
http://queclink.com/sites/default/files/PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1_8_0.zip

Yes, you need to do power down the GL300 completely and start the Upgrade in the Duplex Upgrade Tool before you connect the GL300 to the PL2303, please refer to the Firmware_Upgrade_Tool_Duplex User Guide V1.08.pdf in the Queclink_Firmware_Upgrade_Tool_Duplex_V2.36.zip archive (http://queclink.com/sites/default/files/Queclink_Firmware_Upgrade_Tool_Duplex_V2.36.zip).

To power it down completely you need to press the power button until the power LED blinks red, and then wait until it turns of (could take up to 90s).

Fung Thanks for your rapid & comprehensive reply.
I do not get the "USB connected" sound with or without the cable connected so I suspect the cable (even though it came with the GL300!). The USB plug has a ~17mm long plastic cover so a bit shorter than normal!
Today I've ordered a "Data (USB-to-UART) cable M" (https://www.globaltelesat.co.uk/data-cable-m-for-queclink) so fingers crossed.

Fung6 years ago

Yeah, normally there only comes a charging cable with the GL300.
That one you posted should work.

Dave Wright6 years ago

Yep new cable arrived & thanks to your help, now see GL300 location on my website.
Now to investigate functionality (eg sleeping) & performance of GL300.
Thanks again.

@ Dave Wright I am really happy I could help!

@K.D. see the last post on the first page, directly under your first Question.

Hi Fung,

Thanks for the link to the upgraded firmware (node/3341). It works on my GL300.

The firmmware has some new commands. Do you have links for the matching Configure Tool and Air Interface Protocol document?

Fung5 years ago

Seems like they are moving fast. Maybe they watch this thread. They moved the node but not the download link.
should be here:
