Secure Connection problem

Hi every one

Have followed the guide on this page and read through a lot of threads, but can not make it work !!!

I run traccar on a machine at home which runs with windows 10 pro. have completed the guide several hours ago but can still only access my server via http.

If I run a test in Certify The Web it writes that it is a success
port 443 is opened in my router.

i may have made a mistake because not all windows look like the ones in the guide.

Wonder why people are still using Windows. It's such a nightmare to use as a server.

Which version of Linux would you recommend ??
have like many others used windows on all my computers since I was 12 years old.
Have also tried Linux mint and Ubuntu a few years ago will one of them be usable?
i'm setting up a computer with one of them tomorrow if one of them can be used

I think you are mixing two thing up. Using Windows on a desktop is probably ok. On a server is probably not the best idea in 2021.

Anyway, any Linux version would do. We mostly use Ubuntu for its simplicity.

now my traccar server is up and running on a linux installation but still can not access it via https
I follow that guide on this page and get an error
(Challenge failed for domain aptrack.dk)
Domain: aptrack.dk
Type: unauthorized
Detail: Invalid response from
http://aptrack.dk/.well-known/acme-challenge/sX9LkbOPgzDvd4Ifwf9iOFSBD27zNrbCTDdX7JXAKAw
[87.57.34.122]: 404

Can see that it is the right IP and the domain is also right
What am I doing wrong ?

Have you checked DNS propagation?

Alf-DK 5 years ago

Yes all good except a server in Pakistan

Anton Tananaev 5 years ago

Clearly it's not ok based on the error. Either you have web server issue or DNS issue. The error actually has nothing to do with Traccar.

agree I also do not think it has anything to do with Traccar. I have looked at the page where I have my domain and I turned off DNSSEC can that be why it does not work ???

No.
