Smallest dog tracker

Przemyslaw 23 days ago

Hello,
I’m looking for the smallest tracker for a small dog (a Jack Russell terrier). The tracker must support at least 4G, since 2G is being phased out.
Are there any devices compatible with Traccar that also offer health monitoring features?
Regards.

Mictrack has one, however I am not sure if it does health monitors

Thanks but looks big. Something smaller?

I have tried almost all pet trackers, If reliable tracking is required go for brands like MicTrack.

However small form factor and size is what you need then go for "eview's cat tracker" Shenzhen Eview GPS Technology (ask them for the cat tracker)

Note: Battery life on this one is a nightmare, and accuracy when the animal goes indoors or in wooded areas can be problematic.

Attached picture if that helps.

Thanks @SwayDev. That one looks small enough but battery is important for me. I don't want to charge every day.
Are You sure it will work with Traccar?

This is the smallest tracker I have come come across and requires daily charging.

Should work with traccar, if not you can sponsor the implementation by contacting Traccar support.

You need to define your requirements to be able to narrow down a tracker that will work for your use case.

It's almost impossible to get the smallest tracker and the longest battery life in a single device. Some trackers can be configured to work in power saving modes.

It's best you contact the manufacturers with your requirements.

There's no perfect pet tracker. Best option I have been able to come out with is an nfc token, using the osmand protocol I send the device's location.

@evallgar how do you overcome NFC's range limitations.

@SwayDev You dont. It is what it is. I bought a ton of different sizes / vendors / types / colors etc. Try them with different devices (more android devices than apple devices), make a decision table and work with that.

My best recommendation is to use both a QR Code and a NFC Token together.
