Supported ODB GPS trackers

Device should be able to get GPS fix from the OBD plug location, but the signal quality might be lower.

I get good reception on my unit that's plugged into the OBD port below the dashboard.

Thank you guys for reply!

@Anton Tananaev
I received two protocol documents from the manufacturer. Should I email them to you or post them here?

Anton Tananaev9 years ago

If they are not confidential post it here. Otherwise you can send it to me by email. Thanks

OK, here are the links:
OBD Data Fact Sheet
and
GPS Tracker Communication Protocol

If the protocol is different from any existing one, let me know, I can help develop new classes if you are busy.

Both protocols look like TK103 and should work on port 5002. There are some extra messages in the first one with ODB data, but we can't support it just yet because those messages don't include any GPS data.

Hi
Is there any plugin for handle TC68 Obd data?

Thanks
Paulo

Not yet, but I plan to add support for data without GPS info in the next release, so it would be possible to implement proper OBD decoding.

Are you saying that these devices are now supported by traccar? Will the GPS306B work? What port does it use?

Anton Tananaev9 years ago

Try one of the ports from the following page:

@anilmathewm, most likely it is supported, but I need protocol documentation to verify it.

Alternatively, if you already have the device, you can try ports from the following page:

-Teltonika FM1010
-Coban 306A

Both work fine.

The Coban device needs to be partially configured by SMS and also sends SMS on events like "Power Alarm".

Teltonika's devices are more configurable and they allow to do firmware updates. With the default configuration they send events using gprs (tcp/ip).

Hello, can anyone provide any information on a Neelam TR209 device. The manual that came with it provided very little information.

Thanks in advance,

I know that Neelam TK206 uses TK103 protocol (port 5002 in Traccar), so there is a good chance that this devices uses same protocol.
