What should happen when I mark a device as "Disabled"?

What should happen when I mark a device as "Disabled"?
I have search among the forums and documentation, and there is no specific information about it. There are another similar questions but no "official" responses nor docs. I think it should be in "Documentation" section.

Disabled devices don't accept any new data.

Just that?
I mean, is there another consequence? I could imagine the device doesn't appear in lists or reports.

I think it appears as grayed out on the list. Don't remember if there are any other consequences. You can probably just trying it yourself and see what happens.
