For anyone wanting to try this out mine Autoupdated to 6.11.1 overnight and is now running fine ( I can not guarantee yours will though as I have said it is still just an experiment) but upto yet all is good.
I shall add another comment if this works on the next version upgrade :-)
Ok so this has been updating fine , currently on 6.12 with zero intervention from me
