Hi everyone,
I built XTraccar Simulator to make it easier to test and demo Traccar without a physical GPS device. It sends positions using the OsmAnd HTTP protocol (port 5055), the same way many apps and integrations do.
What it does
Real roads: plan routes with OSRM (OpenStreetMap) or import GPX
Trip control: start, pause/resume, stop; realistic speed behaviour
Telemetry: ignition, 12V, immobilizer, odometer, RPM/fuel, cell/Wi‑Fi, digital inputs, test alarms
Live dashboard: Leaflet map, WebSocket updates, Traccar connection test
Languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese (UI)
Typical setup
Traccar listening on 5055 (OsmAnd)
Create a device and use the same unique id in the simulator
Run the simulator (Python 3.11+, web UI on 8081)
Plan a route → Start → watch the device update in Traccar
Repository: https://github.com/th3junior/XTraccar-simulator
README covers install (Windows/Linux), config.yaml, troubleshooting, and REST/WebSocket API.
This is a testing/demo tool I’m sharing for the community. If you find it useful and want to support maintenance (docs, features, hosting time), there’s an optional Ko-fi link in the README — totally voluntary, no paywall.
Feedback, bug reports, and ideas are welcome (GitHub issues). Happy testing!
