You should tell us what you configured in the device section in preferences.
The dots are only visible if you set a geofence in the device details. However, they appear on some devices but not on others—even if I don't have any geofences defined on my account.
Devices must have geofences linked.
If I create a geofence and a device is in it, the geofence name is displayed, followed by the dot, and then the status. It looks as if these devices (with dot only without geofence name) are in some hidden, unnamed geofences. Or they're in geofences created by other accounts to which they aren't assigned... It looks like a bug.
I checked one device, and it's assigned to two accounts. One account has a geofence created, and the name of that geofence displays in the status bar. If you log in to the second account, which doesn't have the geofence, you only see a dot without a name. It seems that the dots appear if the device is in any geofence, even those belonging to other users.
If you share a device but don't share geofences linked to this device, you will get issues like this.
What does that little dot next to the status mean? Some devices have it, others don't.
