Hello,
I have a feature request for the Android Traccar Client application.
Modern Android phones already include accelerometers, gyroscopes and other motion sensors. It would be very useful if Traccar Client could optionally use these sensors to detect driving behavior events, such as:
Harsh braking
Harsh acceleration
Sharp turns
Possible collision or impact
The application could analyze the sensor data locally and send these events to Traccar Server as standard events or as position attributes, allowing users to configure notifications and reports without requiring a dedicated GPS tracker with a built-in G-sensor.
This feature would make Traccar Client much more useful for users who only use a smartphone for tracking, as well as for fleet management, insurance telematics, and driver behavior analysis.
Is this something that could be considered for Traccar Client, or is there already an extension point in the SDK that would allow developers to implement this functionality?
Thank you for your great work on Traccar.
Feel free to submit a feature request.
I just submitted the proposal to the repository. Thanks, Anton.
