app ios settings: location services in settings set to ‘always allow’
problem: installed ios traccar ios client and registered and setup with specific demo server to try out tracking performance and reporting. had traccar installed last 30 days of driving to work and home and other places. logged into same specific demo server that ios client is reporting to, tracker shows up on map but under reports of ‘last week’ or ‘last
month’ no data or movement of tracker.
there is little documentation for the ios client app even on this website. the little thats on here says ‘check for location information success’ in client logs but i have no idea what that data would look like. the log says a lot of stuff with green and other color circles but i have no idea what they all mean as the messages are vague and cryptic.
there is no documentation i can find to explain each of the setting in the settings in the ios client app either and can’t troubleshoot if i don’t know what they mean which is very frustrating.
can someone explain each setting option in the client app including the top setting exhaling what ‘continuous tracking’ on and off means. why would someone install a tracking app and turn off continuous tracking? is that to turn off tracking temporarily but keep the app to later turn back on? it doesn’t make any sense to me why turning off continuous tracking would be an option and it was disabled by default after installing the app. why would continuous tracking be disabled by default?
and i also need to know what each setting in the settings area means especially heartbeat and also each setting in advanced settings
maybe if my continuous tracking was disabled by default thats the reason my client has not been sending updated location data to the demo server.
but also i interpreted ‘continuous tracking’ being disabled as ‘client will report location changes as the client moves more than 20 feet then sent update to demo server’, and i interpreted ‘enabled’ as client sends location updates continuously (every 5mins?) even if client is not moving locations.
please help. thanks.
