No data from zx612 tracker

Hi guys,
I have a little problem with my new zx612 tracker. I got it from banggood. It is currently on firmware v70.

It connects to my server (v4.10) but sends no data as you can see in the logs below. I censured the IMEI for privacy purpose.

2020-09-09 21:27:37 INFO: [b253fcc2: gt06 < 2.247.253.100] HEX: 7878071364460819640d0a
2020-09-09 21:27:37 INFO: [b253fcc2: gt06 > 2.247.253.100] HEX: 78780513460866860d0a
2020-09-09 21:27:37 INFO: [b253fcc2] id: 3593390XXXXXXXX, time: 1970-01-01 01:00:00, lat: 0.00000, lon: 0.00000, course: 0.0

So the tracker shows status "online" in Traccar but no real data is transmitted to the server. The server is correct configured, I use few more tk103 trackers and phone apps successfully at this moment.

I've read that these china trackers sometimes don't have real GPS antenna and only use LBS. The strange part is that if I reset the tracker to factory defaults it sends to www.365gps.net and there it shows the exact location. The location is in my opinion too exact for LBS as it is only 10-20m away from its real location.

Thanks
Felix

The sample that you provided doesn't have any LBS or GPS data.

Correct, that's the problem. There is no data. With the 365gps server it works. Is the gt06 protocol fully implemented in traccar? Does anyone use this protocol right now?

Well, my point is that the data is not coming from your device. GT06 protocol should be fully supported in Traccar. Not sure what gps365 does differently. Maybe they send some kind of commands to force device to report location or maybe they just show last known location.

Hm alright, I try to contact the vendor. Thanks, Anton.

The zx612 is in the supported devices list, maybe another user who also has this tracker could help me out? How do I configure it to send actual data to my server?

Things I configured so far:
Send data intervall 10s

md#10

APN settings

APN#pinternet.interkom.de

Serveradress (the port I found here)

domain#my.domain.com#8002#

Making sure that the tracker don't send to 365gps.net while my own server is not available

server#my.domain.com#8002#

And yes, I did also do a restart of the tracker :)

Thanks

One thing I heard before is that many GT06-based devices don't report location while stationary.

Thanks for that hint! That would be actually a very nasty trap, everybody tests the tracker at home while stationary.
I carry the tracker to work tomorrow and check if this solves the problem.

Hi Anton, you were right! As soon as you move the tracker for a few meters it reports data.
So this hint is very interesting for all people who have gt06 trackers and don't know why they don't report any data.

I will look for another tracker since this is not the right one for my use case.
