Interesting. What can it be used for?
a new Android app that lets you track your Google Find Hub devices through Traccar
:o) but why would you want to do that through Traccar when you can already do it through Find Hub?
I must be missing something.
Are you seriously asking this question? Have you used Find Hub?
Find Hub functionality is extremely limited. It doesn't even have such basic thing as history. There's no way to configure regular updates. That's just to mention absolute table stakes things for tracking.
Also the point is that you can integrate it into your existing Traccar setup along with other devices you might have. You get full proper tracking system, not an app that only designed to find lost items.
Thanks, so the objective is to use Find Hub as an alternative to a GPS tracker or Traccar Client? Presumably providing location only.
Yes.
Thumbs up emoji!
Sounds great. What's the docker label for traccar preview image?
There's no docker for preview.
That's unfortunate cause I image it excludes most traccar deployments.
When do you expect that function to make its way to regular releases?
Don't know.
If you're testing, please update to the latest. There were some issues with scheduled updates. Should be fixed in the latest version.
I can't log in. "Your encrypted data is locked on this device." Any suggestions?
Does the standard Google Find Hub app work on your device?
We are excited to announce the first release of Traccar Relay - a new Android app that lets you track your Google Find Hub devices through Traccar.
Google Find Hub (formerly Find My Device) is a network of devices that can locate your belongings using Bluetooth trackers and other compatible accessories. Traccar Relay acts as a bridge between this network and your Traccar server, bringing Find Hub device locations into your existing tracking setup.
How It Works
The app is simple to use. Install it on your Android phone, sign in with your Google account, and enter your Traccar server URL. The app will automatically discover your Find Hub devices. When Traccar requests a location update, the app fetches the latest position from Google and sends it to your server.
Both one-time and periodic location updates are supported, and everything runs in the background automatically.
Preview Server Required
Please note that this is an early release and it requires a preview version of Traccar server. The stable release does not yet include the necessary support for relay devices. You can download the preview version from the preview page.
You also need to configure
notificator.traccar.keyin your server configuration file. This key is used for secure communication between the relay app and the server. The app is fully open source and the code is available on GitHub.
We encourage you to try the app and share your feedback. The APK is available on the Traccar Relay page.
