Traccar Device uniqueId

Hello everyone,
Is there any rule for we have to take into account when creating devices uniqueId?
Can we use alpha-numeric characters or only numeric characters?

The id is normally the IMIE number. But perhaps youmean something else?

Usually you don't create device IDs. Each device already has an id.

The one exception is for Traccar Android tracking app where the device ID is assigned by the user.

I forgot to mention on my question that I was talking about the android client app.

Anyway, now I know that usually is the device IMEI.

Traccar Client also has an id by default. Why would you want to change that?

So, my question is.
Since traccar Client have an internal software provided uniqueId, if I leave it by default will my server detect it? Assuming I setup my server address on Client app?
I believe I have to register it first on server isn't?

Yes, of course you have to register it on the server, like any other device.
