Traccar on AWS EC2: Amazon Aurora vs MySQL on Amazon RDS

Pekka3 years ago

I am setting up Traccar on AWS EC2 instance. I've got the server running on default settings and now I'm pondering between Amazon Aurora and MySQL as database. What I've read from the documentation and forums, MySQL is better choice as database than Postgres for Traccar. Aurora is MySQL compatible so I believe it should be a viable option. According to benchmarks, Aurora performs better than MySQL but has anyone got experience if this is the case with Traccar? Should I go for Aurora or MySQL on Amazon RDS?

I would recommend a local MySQL instance instead. Network connection will add too much latency.
