JT/T 1078 - Troubleshooting help needed

SwayDev 20 days ago

Traccar version: 6.14.2

Everything seems to be as expected, however the stream/video does not work.

  • Port 5015, Tracking & Commands are working
  • Traccar is receiving stream data from the dashcam (port 5263)
  • Stream data seems to match protocol document
  • Browser console shows .ts files and stream link to have content and no errors.

Am I doing something wrong?

Screenshots below
Stream starts, log displays stream data being received, Data seems to match the protocol documents for JT/T 1078.

Browser video player displays loader and duration, however no video

What codec are you using?

SwayDev 20 days ago

Payload type is 99.

I am not sure whether the device is sending H.264 or H.265.

By codec I am assuming you are referring to the data device is sending right? Most likely H.264, I have asked the manufacturer for confirmation as well.

Looks like the device is sending H.265 / HEVC. That is the problem. You need to configure it to use H.264. There are some known issues with H.265.

Thank you, will check if I can configure it to use H.264, will update here once tested.

Is there a limitation on client rights to limit video viewing time? Because with unlimited video viewing, all the traffic allocated for receiving coordinates runs out very quickly.

Anton Tananaev 20 days ago

No limits currently.

SwayDev 20 days ago

@naeim I think that should be controlled on the SIM/provider level.

SwayDev 20 days ago

Thank you Anton, your suggestion setting it to H.264, now the video is working.

Actually H.265 is lite in streaming and works better, I guess
